Ricky Allen

Ricky’s films find comedy in the quiet corners of everyday life, turning awkward conversations, strange obsessions and very British problems into something unexpectedly brilliant.

We fell for Ricky's work after watching Death Wish, a short film about a young girl's dying wish for her mum to join her in heaven. It's funny, tragic and slightly unsettling in all the right ways. Ricky’s work has picked up awards and recognition at the Young Director Award, Young Arrows, Shiny Awards and beyond.

From the first watch, it felt like Ricky belonged at Breakfast. We're excited to see what happens when his uniquely British sensibility collides with Nordic productions.

He's currently writing a TV pilot about a dysfunctional parish choir. Which, honestly, feels inevitable.
